I do not wish to use synced tabs. That would really slow Firefox down if
it had to look for tabs open on another machine. Also, I do not wish to
use a Firefox account nor any of the features that require an account.

Version 114 is shoving it down my throat. It's now on the History menu,
even though it's nothing to do with History. It's also on the View menu
Sidebar submenu. Several account features are the first item on the
three lines menu.

Now that I think about it, the Sidebar submenu is new.

I have Sync enabled, and it logs into my Firefox account, but I don't
sync everything.

Bookmarks: yes
History: no
Open tab: no
Logins and passwords: yes
Addresses: no
Credit cards: no
Add-ons: yes
Settings: yes

Assuming you ever created a Firefox account, if you don't want anything
synchronized then make sure you are signed out (3-bar menu, top item)
and disable the Sync option. If you never have created a Firefox
account then nothing will ever get synchronized.

I don't recall ever being forced to create a Firefoc account or use
Firefox Sync. The only change getting shoved down your throat is the
addition of the Synced Tabs panel in the sidebar, and the addition of
the Sync Tabs entry in the History menu (I have to tap Alt to see the
menu since I haven't used it in ages). Since I'm not synchronizing the
tabs, selecting the Synced Tabs panel in the sidebar shows "Open Sync
settings", because I'm not sync'ing tabs, so there are none to show.
There's also a History choice in the sidebar, but I don't use that,
either. Only panel I use in the sidebar is Bookmarks.

I also have Firefox 114. Adding more choices to the sidebar's panels or
to the History menu is hardly shoving anything down your throat. If it
were a feature you wanted, you'd be elated at the addition. Because you
don't use it, apparently it is a high irritant to see choices to see
sync'ed tabs (of which you are not sync'ing, so there's nothing to
show). I could make the same complaint that a History panel is
available in the sidebar although I never use it, or there is wasted
space in the menu bar for a History entry. I don't consider it onerous
to have features available in the sidebar or menu that I do not use.
There are many features or functions in Firefox that I don't use, but
there is no pain in having access to them in the menu bar or sidebar.

Under the 3-bar hamburger menu, I only see 1 account-related entry.
Maybe if not logged into a Firefox account there are more
account-related entries in that menu. What account-related entries do
you see in the 3-bar menu (presumably you are not logged in)? For me,
my 3-bar menu looks like:

https://imgur.com/a/S3iW4UC

Maybe what you meant by "several items" for account is when you click on
the account entry in the 3-bar menu to open a cascaded submenu. Well,
don't do that, especially since you're not using a Firefox account. Why
are you opening cascaded submenus for items you don't want to use?
There are many entries in that menu that I don't use and don't want,
like Bookmarks (I use the sidebar for which I added a button in the
toolbar, and a button in the toolbar that opens a bookmarks panel),
History (I *never* bother using the 3-bar menu to view history),
Passwords (I go into Settings for that since I rarely edit them),
Add-ons and themes (again, I go into Settings for that), Zoom (I use
Ctrl+mousescroll, and the control inside the address bar at the right
end when not at 100%), and Exit (I use the "X" button). So, apparently
Mozilla has been shoving those down my throat for years, too, because I
don't use them and don't want them in the 3-bar menu.

I'm not sure you can find any program that won't display a list of its
features somewhere, like in a menu, that you don't use; i.e., allow you
to remove any or every item in a menu, and also remove any cascaded
submenu for any entry you don't want to use. Firefox's GUI is not that
configurable. Maybe Vivaldi would be more to your liking. It's GUI is
more configurable, but I'm sure there is some minimum set of elements in
their GUI that you cannot configure.

Ok, Vanguard. Sometimes, hyperbole is used in commentary.

Ah, so that was the intention instead of a complaint. Welcome to any
communication venue where hyperbole may go unrecognized. I did not see
"shoving down your throat" as extreme exaggeration to qualify as
hyperbole, but as a complaint about a change you don't want.

Mozilla has a long history of making changes that some dislike while
others are indifferent, especially if they are unaffected by the change.

It didn't sound like a complaint? I thought I complained. Gosh, I'm just
too subtle.
