Plus, in Linux there's no adequate Persian phonetic keyboard layout so I
could type in Persian. I tried everything available, and they're all
badly made and cannot be switched back and forth with English easily.

The one written years back for Windows still works like king. Half of
what I blabber on the internet is in Persian. You think I should change
computers when I'm switching between languages? I won't do that even if
you pay me :)

Sorry, didn't hear the sound of your whine over all this ocean noise!\\

The superior sound-routing capabilities of pulseaudio allows me to stream
video through Twitch or YouTube without having the sound of another video
bleed into the stream. Also, IM pings (such as from WhatsApp) don't have
to be on my stream. This is handled with a virtual audio device.

Before, I've actually bought products for Windows that claimed to have
this capability, but they never worked right with OBS-Studio.

Speaking of which, I used xdaliclock for a visual timer. There is no
xdaliclock port for Windows, so there's another reason to keep using
Linux.

I shudder to think what would be necessary to build Pan for Windows.
It's not a cakewalk on Linux, either, but much more manageable
(Sidenote: It escapes me why you don't take the time to stop being
a "distro lackey" and build your own Pan from sources. Jedi knights
build their own light sabers, don't they?)

Anyway, back to streaming: when I stream, it's usually
games, and those games often used DirectX. The Linux implementation
of DX is DXVK, which uses Vulkan -- and can run faster than Windows.
Elite Dangerous Odyssey uses Frontier Development's _Cobra 4.0_
engine, which I cap at 90 FPS. I run the 60Hz display at 4K resolution
with all the knobs cranked up to "Ultra". There's still plenty of
overhead to run OBS-Studio, which can stream the video while writing
to the 10G-Base-T attached NAS.

A word about the NAS: it is a Synology DiskStation, which also
runs Linux. But that is more of an appliance, with web-based
GUI management software. I record at 4 Gbit, because the disks are
only 6 Gbit SATA drives. That is RAID5. The new NAS that I haven't
assembled yet will have a RAID0 volume for captures; it will be a
two-volume NAS with the other volume either RAID5 or something I
haven't tried yet: Synology's hybrid RAID that allows one to
grow the volume.

Done all that! There's no problem in installing a Persian keyboard
layout. The main issue is that the layout works only in certain apps and
not the rest. They don't carry that layout into every app one uses in
Linux.

And I happen to use an app quite often, in Linux, but have not found any
layout out there that works inside it.

So Linux is still for fiddlers and fun lovers. As soon as you want
something serious done, you see the hand of Microsoft bribing the
developers.

I cannot believe that.

If you are using a GUI, then your are likely using X Window. With X,
the keyboard is handled independently from any application. X just
interprets the keypress and sends it to the application. Therefore
all applications should work.

In other words, applications do not implement the keyboard; X implements
the keyboard on behalf of the application.

If the application does not "carry" the layout (whatever that means) then
the application, and not Linux, is at fault.

The stupidity of this sentence is not limited to computers. But it
explains a lot about his limited usage of his computer. He can't use it

On some games there is the sound music and there are the noises at the
same time. Some people don't like the sound and prefer listening their
own music. But they prefer to keep the noises because they can provide
information. So being able to listen to your own music when hearing the

Guilty. When talking to my ex last week I mentioned I was out in the
woods. She asked if I was walking while talking on the phone and I told
her I was sitting on a stump admiring the scenery since I didn't think
walking down a steep, mountain trail while talking on a cellphone would
have a happy ending.

I would guess 98% of the miles I've driven in my life were solo. I've
found that carrying on a conversation can be detrimental to paying
attention to the road.

Alsa can also mix sound sources. There is no need for that junk
PulseAudio.

But Alsa requires a lot of expertise, which is why I asked that retard
to LEARN Alsa, if he could but he can't.

What is Alsa? I have options with Celluloid, Rhythmbox, mpv, and VLC to
listen to my mp3 files. Celluloid seems to be clearer than the rest. Is
there an "Alsa" app that is better? When I search in software manager
for "Alsa", like every other time I try that funky app, a whole bunch of
packages pop up I don't know in what order and what they are and why
they appeared when I searched for "Alsa". And a few among this pile of
shit so idiotically listed in front of me, are checked as installed.

So tell me. Do I have Alsa installed? Did you mean Alsa as an app to
