The traditional X11 is gradually making way for Wayland under Linux,
Firefox has been one of the reasons that process has taken several years.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1752398 was closed
(resolved, fixed) two days ago - taking Firefox out of the critical path
for Wayland adoption.
What does this mean for Seamonkey?

It means that Wayland itself is still work in progress and any distribution
removing X11 is nuts. For SeaMonkey you still need X11. We started with
backports but no ETA.

Apparently, Fedora 40 will only support Wayland for KDE Plasma
installations
(https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/40/ChangeSet#KDE_Plasma_6).

If you consider Fedora to be the development branch of RedHat Enterprise
Linux, it's time to drop KDE anyways, since there's no support for it in
RHEL anymore.
