I just upgraded from Kubuntu 18.04 to 22.04 and have a small
problem. Under 18.04, when I had several processes going, they
were indicated on the bottom menu line, so I could call any
one forth by clicking there. Now there is a little "windows
list" button which gives me a list to choose from, not as convenient.
Is it possible to set that to the bottom line thing as before,
or do I just have to live with the new version?

I use Mageia, not Kubuntu, but you might try this:

Right-click on the taskbar, and choose "Configure Task Manager." Under
the "Behavior" tab, the box marked "Group only when Task Manager is
full" may do what you want.

Checking it works in Mageia 8 and the beta1 version of Mageia 9.
