Is there another usable browser which will is compatible with Seamonkey
and allow me to transfer over my profile.
After several months of trying to use Seamonkey updates newer than
2.23.12 I have given up.
I have tried all the solutions I ( and others)can think of ( safe mode
etc ) and others but nothing seems to help
17 works fine on my 64 bit laptop but no matter what I do to solve the
problem with any update after 12,on my 32 bit machine, Seamonkey
continues to crash repeatedly any time I click on a icon.
I need my 32 bit machine for certain old programs I use frequently.
But 12 has become nearly unusable. I am using Firefox more and more and
I despise it.
Are there any browsers out there which will allow migrating my profile
and are as intuitive and user friendly as Seamonkey?

Chuck

Do you mean 2.23.12 (I don't think it ever existed) or 2.53.12 (which
was released early May 2022 and is what you used to send this)?

My wild-assed guess is that your problem is a 32-bit / 64-bit problem,
the 32-bit Seamonkey is hardly ever used and substantially untested.
Unfortunately I can't find the posting where that little detail showed
up, it was probably after 2.53.12.

Things get worse if you tried to install a 64-bit Seamonkey over a
32-bit version, the thread "32bit vs 64bit Browser Question..." which
was started on 25 June 2022 (my time zone) is interesting on that front,
particularly the comment by "frg".

As to migrating a profile to a different browser, I noticed years ago
that other browsers did not look for the Seamonkey profile when they
offered to migrate to *their* offering. If it works at all, it would
probably have to be via Firefox (and Thunderbird) and then onwards. I
read somewhere that the Vivaldi browser also has an e-mail client but
that may be garbage.

Yeah you are probably right.
The solution is obvious

I'm also having tons of trouble with my Seamonkey browser crashing frequently (not every hour; but several times a day). The mail & newsgroup module NEVER crashes. I'm running version SM 2.53.12 on Windows 10 on half a dozen computers.

I'm an oldtimer, and not that technical, so I could EASILY have installed a 64-bit Seamonkey over a 32-bit version at some point in the past. In fact it seems nearly certain since I've used Seamonkey since its inception, and its predecessors before that.

I tried to find the 2022 thread you mention to learn more about this -- but I can't find it. Can you repost the 2022 frg comment here, if that sums up the problem?
