It was simple as heck with XP to change the color of Web pages from
white to another color of choice. With Win 7 it seems impossible.

The Desktop is easily changed, but not the windows in a browser.

Which version of Firefox?

In Firefox 52.9.0, the last version which would run on XP...
1. Go to: Tools >> Options >> Content
2. Scroll down to "Fonts & Colors"
3. Click the button "Colors..."
4. Adjust the settings to suit your preferences.

In the latest versions of Firefox...
1. Go to: Tools >> Options >> General
2. Scroll down to "Colors"
3. Click the button "Manage Colors..."
4. Adjust the settings to suit your preferences.

Only when the web page explicitly specifies it's colors and you don't
switch that off in the settings of Firefox.
