well, from what I noticed there now are "free weekends" and stuff like
that which let you install a game and play, but you don't actually own
it. which just sounds like a terrible idea.

It reminds me of Pirates Of The Burning Sea... an MMORPG I played
probably about 10 years ago or so. I might get something out of this

Huh, I already own it. Who knew? Apparently it was part of a
HumbleBundle back in 2018.

It's a multiplayer FPS, so it's no surprise this one slipped under my
radar. I can't say I'm in any rush to play it now that it's
reappeared. Reviews are middling (with several mentioning that fact
that it's NOT a game published by Ubisoft as one of its sole
positives), and apparently it has (or had?) issues with modern (later
than 11th gen) Intel processors.

I've never gotten all that excited about the pirate genre anyway. I
was always more a ninja sort of person.
