If you noticed last week's announcement on Epic Game store, we were
/supposed/ to get Fallout 1, Fallout 2 & Fallout Tactics as freebies
this week... which I wasn't at all excited about because I already own
something like a half-dozen copies of those games already. But I guess
- probably as a response to Bethesda's release of its "Fallout SPECIAL
Edition" - that offer got cancelled. Instead, we get a completely
different game:

* Super Meat Boy Forever
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/super-meat-boy
Not much needs to be said about this one. It's an updated
version of the Indie darling, the gory - and ruthlessly
hard - retro-platformer "Meat Boy". Although this time it's
more of an auto-runner. Whether that is an improvement
really depends on how much you liked the original's gameplay
(personally, I found its challenge level just a bit too much
to be fun for extended periods) and how much you like auto-
runners (not really a fan either). For what it is, I think
SMBF is an okay game; it's just not a genre I enjoy much.

Anyway, at least this isn't Fallout... again. You have the usual seven
days to claim the game (or not).

I'm not one for super difficult games. The only one I've actually beaten
is Celeste.

Thanks, Meat Boy is one I always intended to try, but never got to as it
was lower on my list, but I can try the Super version. I suspect an
auto-runner isn't for me, but I'll give it a try.

Look, I'm of a certain generation. I can't help sneaking in a Monty
