Upgrading SeaMonkey (and underlying OS) has led to multiple questions.
Most have led to complete or partial answers on this group.
That led to asking about documentation.
My post was apparently unclear. So I rephrased as:
> What would be the appropriate documentation related mailing lists
> and USENET groups [preferably with archives]?
No response.

I'll an example of why SeaMonkey needs *PROOFREADERS*.

The first paragraph of current _Release Notes_ states
"This version of SeaMonkey makes changes to your profile that
can't be reverted ...".

Then under "System Requirements, Installation and Uninstallation"
there is a reference to an undefined "one-time profile upgrade".
At paragraph's end there is a link to
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/doc/install-and-uninstall
which makes no reference to a "one-time profile upgrade". BUT
that page's sidebar has a link to
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/doc/profiles
which provides a link for migrating from "Netscape, Mozilla,
Thunderbird or SeaMonkey 1."

But I'm already at SM 2.49.4 ;/
NO mention of "one-time profile upgrade"!

From feedback in this group I suspect I know the answer.
But, it is *NOT* documented.

P.S.
There is a topologically similar problem with
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/dev/get-involved
reference to
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Devmo:How_to_Help
What got my attention? That's an exercise left to the student ;}
