Hello. Do you know it there is some
work going on emulating the LDS-1,
at least to simulate (or reimplenent)
early 3D systems such as
the Cybernetic Landscapes?

I started looking into it. But the LSD-1 hardware is quite complicated
and extensive, and I didn't get very far.

I got some Fortran listing from Aaron Marcus and transcribed them. The
code to interface with an LDS-1 was not part of them, so that would have
to be reinvented. However, someone else rewrote the code to ... I don't
remember exactly, Python maybe? And it turned out there wasn't a lot of
data in there, nothing like the Cybernetic Landscapes screenshots that
are online.

Just about the only useful LDS-1 application is the "Maze watcher"
that ran on the MIT Dynamic Modeling PDP-10.
