On 25/08/2021 17:33, Commander Kinsey needs to listen!

My son-in-law is as fit as a fiddle, aged around 40.

He has just tested positive for Covid. 🙏

Do the right thing, just this once - get yourself jabbed!

Why? It doesn't protect you anyway and neither does the mask.

See Jesse Jackson to see what it does to people who have received both
doses.

If it makes you feel a false sense of security though to inject a
poison, go for it.

Neither offers you 100% protection. Neither does stopping at a red light.
Neither does wearing a seat belt.

But the vaccine offers significant protection... more than 90% of the folks in
ICUs with Covid are unvaccinated. The masks help to reduce the spread.

Your ignorance should not give you ANY special entitlements.

Why do you try to hard to be ignorant? What value do you get in it?

We already know that the masks do nothing to prevent the spread or to
protect a person. Even Dr. Fauci admitted that during his frequent
flip-flopping. It's the same with the vaccine: whether you are
vaccinated or not, you can still get infected and spread it which means
that there is effectively no difference between a person who submitted
to the shot or not. Those who didn't get vaccinated still have an immune
system though and probably won't eventually die from ADE.

The unfortunate part here is that you're arguing with Shit who has been
filtered by most people in just about every group he frequents. No
matter whether you agree with him or not, he will eventually argue with
you because he can't help himself and has an instinctive need to annoy
everything that breathes to death.

Sorry to hear about your son-in-law.

Absolutely agree: there is NO excuse for out to not get the vaccine (some do
have health issues which prevent it).

Has your son-in-law been vaccinated? If so his chances of getting a severe
case are much lower. Wish him a speedy recovery.

If it helps: know someone who is 86 and recently got it. They had a very mild
case. I noticed a bit of a cough (over the phone, I never saw them
face-to-face) the week before they were tested, but they say they had no
symptoms. Either way, their symptoms were no worse than allergies or a mild
cold. They were vaccinated.

It does reduce speeding, but the fact that people break the last is not a
reason to not have the law. In fact, if nobody breaks a law there is no reason
to have it.

No. Insurance does not cover public property miles from you. At this point you
have to just be trolling... or in denial to try to push the libertarian
fantasies.

That is like saying if you go through a red light it is your car that kills
people, not you. It is absurd.

You just refuse to take any responsibility for your actions. You again are a
walking examples of why libertarianism cannot work.

There are levels of risk. Sure. But you do not care about even things with a
high risk that is overwhelming our hospitals and traumatizing our medical
professionals.

I think that those who are getting massive support from others, such as
yourself, should stop whining about how they are asked to give some back.

This does not mean folks should not be concerned with how their tax dollars
are spent. I am deeply unhappy with how we spent trillions in the middle east
doing useless "nation building". Bush's actions there were reprehensible --
and not improved under Obama or Trump. Biden now gets the blame for ending
it... and it is an utter disaster of US foreign policy. From both parties.

will find precisely no comment from me where I ever said, suggested, hinted,
or implied any such thing.

See: you come to absolutely absurd and ignorant conclusions and then attribute
them to others. That is on you.

What you "know" is the opposite of truth.

https://www.pnas.org/content/118/4/e2014564118

Can point to much more.

> Even Dr. Fauci admitted that during his frequent
> flip-flopping.

While he -- like anyone who speaks often in public -- has made errors, overall
most of his "flip flops" are tied to going with the newest evidence. That is
what mature and reasonable people do.

I will say the early rejection of masks was likely political: there was a need
for medical professionals to have the limited supply.

But you actively seek to be ignorant.

> It's the same with the vaccine: whether you are
> vaccinated or not, you can still get infected and spread it which means
> that there is effectively no difference between a person who submitted
> to the shot or not.

Your chances of getting it are much lower if you are vaccinated, and your
length of being contagious is also generally going to be lower (about five
days). Again, you work to remain actively ignorant.

> Those who didn't get vaccinated still have an immune
> system though and probably won't eventually die from ADE.

Once again you have no clue what you are talking about.

https://www.nebraskamed.com/COVID/antibody-dependent-enhancement-in-vaccines
-----
If COVID-19 vaccines caused ADE, people who are vaccinated against
COVID-19 would have more severe disease. This is not happening. On
the contrary, people who are vaccinated typically have very mild
disease or none at all. In fact, the majority of COVID-19 deaths
in the U.S. are people who aren't fully vaccinated. In May, fully
vaccinated people made up just 0.8% of COVID-19 deaths. That means
99.2% of COVID-19 deaths were in unvaccinated people.
-----

What value do you get out of being so willfully ignorant?

In short: you hate how I use evidence and reason to counter your willful
ignorance. You cannot actually show where I am wrong, but you hate how I
counter your nonsense.

If one is fit and well, as Commander Kinsey appears to be, he's unlikely
to suffer any downside by /having/ the jabs. If he's AFRAID, though,
that's a different matter.

Yes - both he and my daughter have had both jabs. I hope he's not badly
effected and doesn't pass it on to my daughter and their children.

That's one /good/ story. As you know, my brother-in-law died, officially
of Covid 19.

Right. The exceptions I mean are some folks with immune disorders. I have a
friend with MS who has been advised for years to not get even flu
vaccinations. With Covid she was told not to as well. These things are rare,
but of course if there is a legitimate medical reason to not get it then one
should not -- the fact these things exist, though, is MORE of a reason for
others to get the vaccine.

Yes. Very sorry to hear that. I know several who have died of it as well. Know
someone else (another person with MS) who is still struggling with the
after-effects and I am very worried for him.

Much like the sink filled with dirty dishes that your wife complains
you don't help with.

There is nothing "convenient" about having MS. If you mean I know people...

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger.

They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.

Evidence is adjusted to suit the needs of the author. Common sense is like being able to breathe. You'd know if you had it. You know you don't have it, because you have to fall back on evidence.

Lets look at the fats analogy. Lets say there are 6 types of fat. In 1990, they state "type 3 is good, and 5 is bad". In 2000, they state "oh hang on, actually, type 5 is good, and 6 is bad." Clearly they haven't a clue and should be ignored.

What about alcohol? Different recommended limit in every country. In the UK, it's been proved that double the recommended maximum makes you healthier than being t-total! You have to take another double to bring you back down to the health of a t-total. So someone drinking 5 times the limit is the same health as someone drinking the limit.

If it was that important, the government would be getting us all to wear a particular type.

I can fairly easily get support in the form of scientific sites and peer
reviewed journal articles for what I have been saying about Covid, masks,
vaccines, and related comments.

The vaccines are very safe and quite effective, even against the Delta
variant. The evidence is overwhelming on this.

Your efforts to minimize it are your challenge -- not mine. It is one of the
top killers in the country right now and that is with at least some mitigation
efforts. Those who care about other humans realize it is a big concern.

Who is the "they" you reference? And, again, the fact our best evidence will
improve is not reason to ignore our best evidence.

What the governments say and what the evidence is need not be the same. And
there might not be one exact answer that has been proved. I have no issue with
that. None of that suggests to me we should ignore the best evidence about
masks, distancing, or vaccines.

They cannot even get many to get vaccinated... how are they going to force
specific mask types?

Not zero in either societal or moral costs.
