Given no one else is complaining about the large amount of spam nor does anything appear to be being done to stop it, this must only be an issue when using groups.google.com (as I do) and everyone else has a better way to see only the actual posts to this group.

Long time hp48 user/fan since the late 80s and reader of the original usenet feed, I'm out.

You can user a server like eternal-september or i2pn2 or my
server which filter spam.

It was hp41c for me.

I have no idea how much spam you're seeing because my news provider
filters them automatically. It costs me an enormous 10 euro per year for
this.

I recommend you switch to something (anything) other than google groups
because you've already wasted far more than $10 of your time.
