Hello!

The debian-upgrade script includes lines to create a new password.
What is the exact reason for that?

kind regards

Because the script is old, and I don't use it myself to notice that this is unnecessary.

I'll remove the changing (creating new) passwords part of if soon.

For now, save a copy of your passwords so you can overwrite them after upgrades, which is probably what you are already doing.

Thanks for pointing this out.

There is now a new commit with the password and key generation removed.
