Why is there a wine-wine entry in my start menu? I don't have Wine
installed and clicking Properties or Edit Desktop File doesn't do anything.

https://www.cjoint.com/data/NBnjAYYteFB_menu.png

Also, is there a way to put the "Recent Files" entry higher up in the
menu? I use this a lot but I have to scroll all the way down to make it
appear.

Thanks

If you're running 21.x or 3 IIRC you can grab the top of the menu and make it taller so the entire
category column shows. That's what I do.

Cool, thanks! Hadn't noticed this before.

And I'd just right-click the menu button, edit menu, and remove the check mark.

Yes, I've done that, but I would still like to know what it is, where it
comes from and why I can't display the properties or edit the desktop
file. I have searched on the net a bit, but haven't found a useful
answer yet.

Why don't you file a bug and ask our coders?
