What's funny is they are disagreeing with what Apple marketing does.

They call every Apple marketing campaign, a troll.

Instead of accepting that it's Apple who "obsesses" over the color of the
iPhone, they call everyone who dares to post a URL to the Apple marketing
campaigns where Apple obsesses over the iPhone color, as a troll.

Simply for pointing out what Apple does.

Apple clearly obsesses over the iPhone color.
What does that tell you about what Apple thinks of its iPhone consumer?

Doesn't mean the "regulars" need to.

You're obsessing over the colour because you have no clue what marketing
and advertising is for. That campaign probably helped sell 25 -
50,000,000 iPhones - of which very few were yellow. Also helped sell
many other Apple products from Watches to Earpods to iPads and even Macs.

They probably spent about $25M on that campaign and it probably boosted
income (with eye watering margins) about $20B. Spit balling here, mind.

Huge ROI for that campaign.

But - you don't understand marketing/advertising, so don't worry too much.

> What does that tell you about what Apple thinks of its iPhone consumer?

That we keep offering our clients the best there is and they will come
back again and again and again because they prefer the best product that
has the best integrated eco-system of them all.

Rumour amongst top value investors is that Apple is an ungodly well
managed company.

It means that the regulars have to deal with the facts.

I choose to deal with them by amusing myself.

No, Arlen obsesses over Apple, to the extent that he literally creates
hundreds of new nyms a month, regularly impersonates existing nyms, and
spends literal hours every day trolling the Apple news groups. The
normal people in the Apple news groups are simply reacting to his
constant disruptions. Nice try at victim blaming, but no cigar.

Not that either. Three strikes, you're out.

You're ignoring the fact that Arlen regularly creates new nyms to answer

You're projecting as usual. And you *regularly* side with Arlen and sms

creating one or two of your own as just one example.

You do not seem to be stupid, so I will attempt to discuss how Apple
markets the iPhone at the next level - to see if you can keep up. OK?

I agree that the dumb "Hello Yellow" campaign was likely simply a way for
Apple to say something (anything!) in the mid-year cycle for the iPhone 14.

But what does _that_ say about what Apple thinks of its own customers?

Apple had nothing else to say about the iPhone 14 so in reality, if Apple
didn't want to "obsess" over the color, they should have said nothing.

> That campaign probably helped sell 25 -

I agree with you that part of advertising is to simply make it appear that
Apple has something different to offer its iPhone customers that's unique.

For example, Apple marketing obsessed over the RED! color quite a few
times, mainly as a sleazy way for Apple to promote a specific charity.

Again, I ask you to delve into the question of why Apple stooped that low.
Consider, for example, Apple could have donated directly to the charity.

But they didn't (as far as we know from their advertisements).
They used the obsession over the RED! iPhone as their donation messaging.

What does that say about what Apple thinks of its own customer base?

> They probably spent about $25M on that campaign and it probably boosted

Actually I do understand marketing rather well, whether you know it or not.
Apple marketing is one of the finest on this planet at understanding you.

You, for example, read an Apple white paper as if it's gospel. Admit it.
You can't fathom, for example, zero-click holes abound on Apple devices.

You think to yourself, "If Apple's sandbox is so great", and "If Apple's
Secure Enclave is so great" and "If Apple's encryption is so great"...

Then how can it be there are so many zero-click exploits on Apple devices.

I would wager I understand you better than you understand yourself.
You believed white papers (which said all these exploits are impossible).

>> What does that tell you about what Apple thinks of its iPhone consumer?
>
> That we keep offering our clients the best there is and they will come

You think it's they best product because you _believe_ the white papers.
And yet, you _ignore_ that iOS is the most exploited smartphone OS around.

You don't know that you don't understand a single thing about iOS.
For example, you vehemently will deny that the walled garden even exists.

Am I right?

What does that mean to a person who is intelligent & who understands Apple?
It means you're incredibly ignorant about everything that Apple does today.

What you don't realize is you only believe what Apple told you to believe.
And Apple never once said that the walled garden exists.

Everyone else _knows_ the walled garden is very real. Except you.
Since Apple didn't tell you the walled garden exists, you say it doesn't.

Even though almost all the flaws in Apple products are due to those walls.
Am I right about you?

> Rumour amongst top value investors is that Apple is an ungodly well
> managed company.

Again we agree that Apple plays ignorant people like a fiddle, with the
classic joke of 'laughing all the way to the bank befitting' of them.

If Apple actually thought their customer wasn't incredibly stupid, then the
Apple marketing campaigns wouldn't be obsessing over what they obsess over.

I wonder if you can step up to the level which I upped the conversation to?
We will know if you can play at the next league level by your response.

I disagree - if he gets into a shouting match with himself, both are
easily KF'd - but everyone needs to lean that way for it to be
effective. Troll-lites like badg don't matter.

That they are like people?

Because they are people, Arlen?

How would that have helped them, Arlen?

That's part of ANYONE's advertising, Arlen.

What in the world is "sleazy" about it, Arlen?

Who says that Apple doesn't?

And selling a product for the same price as the non-charity version (and
you can check online and see that that's what they do) but then donating
some of the price to a charity IS Apple donating to that charity directly.

There is no “step up” in your drivel, Arlen. This is the exact same level
you ALWAYS operate at: Apple customers are stupid. Geniuses buy Android
phones.

That’s it.

If you would actually talk about facts instead of your childish opinions,
THAT would be a step up. But as long as you continue with your S.O.B.
(Standard Operational Bullshit), then we will continue to laugh at you.

If you want to be treated like an adult, then stop acting like a child.

Adults will notice the iKooks _hate_ facts about Apple products.
Where the only response from iKooks - is childish as shown above.

I have two goals on this newsgroup.
1. Convey the truth about Apple products
2. Show the iKooks for what they are

In terms of the first goal of showing iOS for what it is...
*Every common consumer OS _except_ for iOS, has TOR privacy/anonymity*

In terms of showing iKooks for what they are, see JR's response to this.
*Why do you think it's only iOS that can't have any anonymity anyway?*

Notice the iKooks' response to the facts about Apple that they hate!
a. Their response shows not only that iKooks are wholly uneducated
b. Hence shockingly ignorant of almost every fact about Apple products
c. Worse, their responses show iKooks own the stunted intellect of a child

Remove these three prolific uneducated child-like iKooks
1. Jolly Roger ===> Responds to all facts about Apple with insults
2. nospam ===> Deflects all facts about Apple to whataboutism tactics
3. Alan Browne ===> Completely ignorant of even the walled garden

Remove those three ignorant iKooks from this newsgroup and the

Like I said, you iMorons don't know a single thing about what Apple does.

While the main point is that Apple makes a big deal about the mere
meaningless RED or YELLOW color of the iPhone because extremely many Apple
customers care more about the color than anything else in the world.

Apple marketing isn't stupid.

Apple wouldn't charge more for a red phone if they didn't know people cared
more about the color of the phone than anything else about that same phone.

If you wanted RED when it first came out, you couldn't buy anything but the
more expensive models - which cost you extra to get that RED! iPhone.

But even so, the fact that Apple makes such a huge deal about something as
completely meaningless as the color of a phone, is what's important here.

You'll have to pay at least $100 more for the red iPhone 7
https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-red-iphone-7-price-2017-3

"Apple announced a new red iPhone 7 with a matte metallic texture on
Tuesday, and it looks gorgeous.

Apple announced a new red iPhone 7 with a matte metallic texture on
Tuesday, and it looks gorgeous.

My colleague Rob Price thinks it's exactly the kind of break we need from
the monotonous metal body, available in silver/gold/black and glass designs
we've recently seen on many smartphones.

Yet, there's a caveat to breaking away from that monotony, and it takes the
form of a higher price tag.

The Special Edition (Product) RED iPhone 7 starts at $750, and the red
iPhone 7 Plus at $870, both of which are at least $100 more than the base
price of the other iPhone 7 models (with the exception of the jet black
color).

That's because the red iPhone 7 is only available in the pricier 128GB and
256GB options. It's not available in the cheaper 32GB option, which costs
$650 for the iPhone 7 and $770 for the iPhone 7 Plus.

This isn't the first time Apple limited a certain color option to more
expensive iPhone models.

When it released the jet black iPhone 7 last year, arguably the most
desirable new color option at the time, it also announced that it was only
available in the 128GB and 256GB options. That made the Jet Black iPhone 7
inherently more expensive than the other color options, which is still the
case today.

For many, 128GB of storage is overkill, especially when cloud storage and
cloud services are becoming more and more prominent. Think Google Photos
for free unlimited photo storage, or Spotify for music streaming. The need
to store photos and music locally on your phone, two of the biggest storage
hogs you could have on your phone, is diminishing.

At the same time, limiting the most desirable colors, including the red
model, to the more expensive 128GB and 256GB options adds to its Special
Edition vibe.

The red iPhone 7 models will be available to buy on Friday, March 24."

But even so, the fact that Apple makes such a huge deal about something as
completely meaningless as the color of a phone, is what's important here.

What it means is Apple customers tend to be absolutely clueless morons.

Otherwise, Apple wouldn't have promoted the "it just works" campaign.

Meanwhile, iOS does NOT work for thousands (upon thousands!) of very useful
functional things that _every_ other consumer OS easily does.

If you assume that Apple has one of the finest marketing operations in the
world (other than the tobacco and soda companies), then you have to look at
how Apple advertises the iPhone to people who care ONLY about the color.

Apple introduces iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/04/apple-introduces-iphone-8-and-iphone-8-plus-productred-special-edition/

It's not only Apple that makes a huge deal of out the mere color of their
iPhone since news outlets also consider the Apple customer to be stupid.

Apple iPhone 8 RED Official: 1st Photos, Prices And All You Need To Know
http://forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2018/04/09/apple-iphone-8-productred-official-1st-photos-and-all-you-need-to-know-release-date-price-pictures-photos/

More recently, Apple spent a half a year's work "improving" the iPhone 14.

Hello, yellow! Apple introduces new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2023/03/hello-yellow-apple-introduces-new-iphone-14-and-iphone-14-plus/
"A beautiful yellow joins the lineup"

If you assume Apple marketing isn't stupid, you're forced to conclude that
Apple marketing rather obviously thinks its own iPhone customer is stupid.

It means that the regulars have to deal with the facts.

I choose to deal with them by amusing myself.

But which so few consumers care about that they buy iPhones anyway!

It's quite illustrative how fearful the iKooks are of the simple truthful
observation that these iKooks were either completely ignorant that Apple
only fully supports a single release (or that the iKooks lied about it).

*For _years_ iKooks were either ignorant of the truth - or they lied*
